About the event:
For one afternoon, ChillChillCats Goodies is bringing together four independent Hong Kong food brands from across the UK, introducing the flavours of Hong Kong to Leeds through traditional pastries, handmade cookies, Taiwanese mountain tea, pineapple cakes, and freshly brewed specialty coffee.
But this isn’t a food fair.
Before tasting, you’ll pick a question card.
Questions such as:
“If this flavour were someone you know, who would it be?”
“If this taste could take you anywhere, where would you go?”
“What colour would this feeling be?”
After tasting, you’ll be invited to respond—not with words, but with colour.
Using acrylic markers, simply add a few lines, shapes or colours onto a shared canvas that represents your personal feeling.
No artistic skills are required.
There is no right or wrong answer.
Each participant contributes only a few marks.
The next person may paint over yours, extend it, or add something completely different.
Throughout the afternoon, hundreds of small responses gradually become four collective artworks.
When the event finishes, each artwork will be professionally scanned and transformed into a series of postcards.
Because every participant leaves behind only a small fragment of the whole—just like how every memory of a flavour is unique and incomplete on its own.
Together, those fragments become the full story.
Food is more than flavour.
It can be a memory, a place, an emotion, or even a person you’ve never forgotten.
Collective Canvas: Taste is an interactive experience that brings together food tasting, collaborative art, and cultural exchange.
Featured Independent Brands:
Freshly brewed pour-over coffee, coffee beans & drip bags
