“Meowing Together” is a backdrop designed by chillchillcats, inspired by Happy Together. Now turns into print. The film’s sense of drifting, emotional tension, and the fragile space between intimacy and distance deeply resonates with many Hong Kongers who have migrated to the UK. Living in a foreign land while carrying the weight of the past, yet still searching for new possibilities, mirrors the emotional landscape portrayed in the movie. This work transforms one of its iconic scenes into feline form, using cats to gently and playfully reinterpret that loneliness and longing. The cats’ closeness and separation echo the contradictions and struggles of building a life away from home.
